This Automotive Dealership General Manager Dealer Successor Opportunity position is with a Confidential Dealer Principal in search of that rare General Manager who has long term jobs of 5 to 8 years per position as a GM with proven results and outstanding references from former Dealer Principals, Controllers and Service Managers. The Dealer has tasked us with in-depth reference checking in search of high ethics, morals and employee retention. Reference checking is right in our wheelhouse.

You will need to be one of the rare multi-dimensional General Managers who former Dealer Principals tell us is in addition to being able to merchandise new and used vehicles must have extraordinary understanding of Fixed Operations with proven policies and procedures for Fixed Ops including high retention of Service Manager, Advisors, Techs and Customers.

This Dealer Principal plays the long game and is not interested a quick increase in car sales a front end gross. That’s for somewhere else. This position is about “continuing” the well thought out processes and procedures that over time have formed the culture of this business. A culture that includes a highly stable and long term management team and staff in all departments.

If that’s you, there is a real opportunity to be the Successor to the Dealer Principal. There are no family members in the dealership in line for Succession. A Succession Plan will be up to the DP and his new GM. This isn’t something a DP does every day and will happen in a well thought out way over time once a trusting relationship is built.
